Winnie Karanja is the Founder and Executive Director of Maydm, an organization focused on equipping girls and students of color with the technical skills and experiences to become innovators and technology leaders. With a background in education, technology and workforce development, Winnie has committed to empowering students. Winnie holds a Bachelors in Education and Masters in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Maydm, a non-profit 501(c)(3) based in Madison, Wisconsin equips girls and students of color with the technical programming skills and experiences to become innovators and technology leaders. Through passionate instructors, creative minds, exciting workshops, and semester long programs we teach 3rd-12th grade students programming and computer science fundamentals, while instilling the confidence to build in fun and creative ways. We integrate mentorship, exposure, and internship opportunities, empowering students towards bold futures in technology.
